4 years after first release, Tjikko comes back with a complete update to celebrate the Zelda 40th Anniversary !
I managed to implement everything I could not first time :
Season System : the player look change with Season Fruits and get special abilities
New Collectibles : Pocket upgrade, Map, Souvenir (with secret poems)
Quality of Life features : backtracking, balancing, options menu
The biggest work was to migrate the game in UE5 to enjoy last features (even if I dont use Nanite or Lumen).
I got many issues with the UI system (totally obsolete) and I reworked it from scratch, as a lot of other blueprints.
Fun fact : the game is now twice less heavy (from 2Go in 2022 to 1Go today)
Noticable changes :
Character model : complete rework with new haircuts for seasons
Environment Art : I used pictures of my parents garden for photobash in the textures
Level Design : difficulty balancing
And VFX, SFX, UI, Lighting, Post-process, ... Almost everything got an update
And I am writing these lines, I prepare new update for the Gdansk DevGAMM ( 2 new languages & UI art collab with @alehandraw )
Then I will start to work on the next chapter of this amazing (and exhausting) adventure.
