Speed Level Art - Fantasy Submarine Canyon

I wanted to try a Speed Level Art, a bit like a SpeedPaint : make a powerful scenery with a random theme within 3 days.
I got submarine canyon but I tried to push it on the fantasy side, with a touch of weirdness.

The landscape was made on Blender, its textures on Photshop by mixing megascans and noises, so I could get this awkward, almost fleshy, materials. Then I separated the different material in the shader, depending of the height and surface orientation.
For the dressing, I started with a selection of plants from my vault and megascans plants, tweaked their textures, then tried some floral arrangement on few spots.
I also played with lights to see how the differents plants could react.
I finished my dressing with a path drawing to make some exploration in the scene : I determine the most welcoming paths and cover with a distinctive foliage, then I complete the dressing with blending between the path and the nice spots.

For the lighting, I push on the fantasy side with unrrealistic colors, fog, emissive and lights. The color composition was quite hard to balance. I eventually find this dark orange / light blue contrast, with touches of magentas / green, mixing together in a dreamy fog.
Finally I enhanced this feeling with particles, animated fog (a little volume shader inspired by Fluid Ninja), and a post process with Kuwahara effect (changing on the depth) and lens parameters.
